Karen Stalin Durairaj

Hometown: Chennai, India

Medical School: Georgia, Eastern Europe

Why did you choose the U of M Stroke Research Fellowship Program: The mentorship in this program is unmatched! The opportunity to work alongside so many accomplished people and learn from them made it my natural first choice.

What do you enjoy most about the program: The chance to work with a team of talented folks from all over the world.

Plans after fellowship: Neurology residency and eventually Stroke Fellowship while still pursuing research long-term

Favorite Minnesota Activities: Live theaters, musicals, exploring new lakes/ trails, learning to cross-country ski

Coolest/geekiest/most random thing about you: I bet you can't name a Hannah Montana song that I don't know the lyrics to (Millennial through and through)

If you weren't a Physician, you would be: I would have been a Writer/Poet. I enjoy writing here and there still and find comfort in literature and poetry.
