Congratulations to both of our matriculating research fellows who matched into Neurology residency!

Dr. Ramezani will continue her training at the University of Nebraska and Dr. Silva will be training at the University of Florida. We are excited for the next step in their careers.

We are pleased to welcome our new research fellows: Dr. Lathiya, Dr. Rios, and Dr. Valcinord!

Congratulations to Solmaz Ramezani, Salman Ikramuddin and Dr. Christopher Streib for publishing their work on Percheron artery infarction in the Neurology Clinical Practice!

The UMN Stroke Research Fellowship was formally founded in 2021.

Through a shared commitment to advancing stroke care, our multicultural research fellowship team pursues the highest standard of neurological treatment and clinical research at the University of Minnesota.

University of Minnesota stroke research fellows are involved in creating and maintaining research databases (local and international), conference presentations, manuscripts, and working groups. Research fellows, with the assistance of a research mentor, lead one or two primary projects intended for publication.

Research fellows are also active participants in our academic conferences and manage our neuroimaging database for the weekly Stroke and Neurocritical Care Neuroradiology Conference.

Stroke research fellows are directly integrated into the daily operations of the Stroke Program.

Daily activities blend clinical research and patient care. Fellows observe rounds, attend stroke codes and interventions, and screen patients for ongoing clinical trials. Research fellows regularly present patients and topical reviews to the clinical team.

Team-oriented individuals who share our deep commitment to the neurosciences may apply to join our research team.

About the Fellowship

The stroke research fellowship is an intentionally enriching environment where research fellows develop fundamental skills in clinical neurology and clinical research. These skills provide a critical platform for future achievements in academic medicine.
